Wendy Svarny-Hawthorne has been with OC since 1991 when she was hired as its Secretary/Receptionist. She served as the manager of Shareholder Affairs and the Recording Secretary for the Board of Directors, as well as assistant to the CEO until late 1997, and has been the writer, photographer and editor of the shareholders' newsletter The Eider Pointer since 1992.
In 1997, Wendy was chosen as the guinea pig for OC's Mentoring Program, developed to mentor shareholders into OC management. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Colorado College in May 2000. While working on her MBA at the University of Washington, the Board of Directors appointed Wendy first interim CEO, and then CEO in November of 2002. Wendy received her Master's of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington on June 11, 2003.
